Ooops
OK, Tim left me a comment right before I deleted all of my old posts - and I didn't even notice. Sorry!

Continuing with the theme from the header:
Not ignorance, but ignorance of ignorance, is the death of knowledge.
-Alfred North Whitehead, mathematician and philosopher (1861-1947)
I believe that only through a rigorous examination of ourselves can we truly reach toward the potential hidden within each of us. We are all only too likely to find fault in others but we hide our own flaws - especially from ourselves. Turning on the harsh, unforgiving light and examining your naked psche is the surest path to enlightened self-improvement.
Can you stand to examine your flaws, your weak points, those traits in your character which you would prefer to keep in the dark? How can you hope you to achieve a higher goal if you are unwilling to confront the demons within yourself? This self-honesty is the first step; it is also the most painful. "Know thy enemy" is an excellent suggestion but knowing thyself is crucial in all struggles - internal or external.
